Most of these o w l s were knit between the end of January, and March 1st, 2009, when I ran a competition for a gallery of photos of the finished sweater — a parliament of o w l s. The winners of the competition were announced here. There are now several thousand o w l s in existence, and you can see a huge variety of projects and customisations here. Hurrah for o w l knitters!

I’ve tried to find a widget to click to follow your postings, but being an ‘old fuddy-duddy’ who is not particularly used to computers, I can’t seem to find one.
I LOVE you designs, I love your writing and I love your sense of humour, is there anyway I can follow you without having to try and track you down each time?
Thanks
Sue
I love all the things on owls etc. Are you on Twitter or facebook or ravelry.com?
Pauline
It took me actually 3 days to knit the sweater, but during that I though, I could do it in 2 days, if I wouldn’t have to take my dogs outside, every half hour. :o)
What a joy to see women of all ages and sizes joined together celebrating and sporting their own creativity- Ma
They are wonderful. Off to our LYS!
I am about to start – looking forward to wear the owls
These are fantastic! Inspiring to see wonderful garments made from a wonderful design.
I love the one with the green eyes.
This is such a remarkable window into how beautifully interconnected this community is. It must be thrilling to see your idea expressed through different hands all over the world
oh man, that’s cute. power to the people!
This sweater looks really great on everyone!
Brilliant design, congratulations.
so, so inspiring!
These are completely wonderful!
I really hope I can get mine completed in time – 18 rows short in what turns out to be a discontinued yarn! Yikes!
I’ve got mine done — but not sure how to find your email address …. off to look at the pattern
but if you could contact me at stella.lange at xtra dot co dot nz and say where to email you i’d be forever grateful, not that i’m not grateful already .. for the pattern :)
This was so fun to see how one beautiful pattern turned out for so many around the world!!! How exciting to create such a pattern and to share it! We live in such a marvelous time.
Amazing! I got goosebumps from looking at everyone’s work and was touched by the sense of connection this project created between people separated by distance and all sorts of obvious and subtle differences. It’s wonderful to see! I have a lot of admiration for all you owl knitters.
International owls!! How well the design transfer to all shapes of people.
ooo the suspense is almost to much, and Saturday has gone and been so … who Won?
Stella
I loved the owl design, anyway, but seeing pictures of all the people who have completed a sweater, and how great the sweater looks on everyone, made me love the sweater twice as much! Have to make one, now. Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your pattern.
I`m i n love .They are all fantastic .I absolutely have to make one for me.

My twin sister finished her Owl sweater in February but I was not able to send it to you all. I was sick and in the hospital, could I still send you her pictures with Owl sweater, she lives in Tucson, AZ?
Please, does anybody know the tutorial in Portuguese? Thanks. Cláudia.
The photos on you site are just gorgeous. The sweater is whimsical and elegant all at the same time!
I was just surfing along, following links on various weaving/knitting/fibre blogs, and ran across this video from CBS news: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4917058n.
It’s kind of a silly little spot on the health benefits of knitting — but the woman who leads the knitting group in question is wearing your o w l s sweater!
Hi, this is hand knitting sweater or knitting machine sweater?
Thanks
[...] and am treating myself to viewing the archives as a break from work. Be sure to check out the parliament link, which shows reader-submitted photos of other people’s owl sweater knitting efforts. [...]
Wow this sweater pattern is fantastic. Thank you for sharing it free to Ravelry members. I want to make this ASAP! I love people who share! Have a great day!
katie dear, do you think one could make this sweater without the decreases? seeing as how i am of a large nature i would prefer no shaping as i have no waistline!
Comme JB71, j’ai la laine et j’aimerai vraiment vraiment faire ce pull. Y a t il des explications en français ? Si c’était possible de les avoir, je serai ravie. je vous enverrai la photo quand il sera fini. Bravo pour ce modèle !
